We create on-the-water, hands-on, educational experiences for students, teachers, and the general public to increase stewardship of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
New Program Highlight
Join Chesapeake Experience and Children’s Author, Jane Kirkland for a one-day “No Student Left Indoors: Creating a Field Guide to your Schoolyard” workshop!
This full day workshop will provide educators with an opportunity to learn and teach about our planet by helping your students to create a field guide to your schoolyard. Whether you’re a nature buff or nature-phobe, a literary genius or writing impaired, artistically talented or one who can’t draw a straight line with a ruler, and teaching gifted or challenged students in an urban, suburban, or rural school—you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of this before.
When: Thursday, August 13, 2009 (9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.)
Where: Booker T. Washington Middle School in Newport News, VA
Cost: $45/educator (bring a packed lunch) “No Student Left Indoors” textbook will be available for 50% off the day of the workshop!
